Nuclear Medicine Technology Qualified Freshman Admissions Policy

Freshman students are admitted into the Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT) Program on a conditional basis. In the second semester of the sophomore year and by February 15th, conditionally accepted students must submit a "Promotion to Professional Request Form" to have their academic record reviewed. Students who have met all the requirements stated below will be allowed to register for upper devision NMT professional sequence courses. Academic Requirements

  1. Satisfactory progress towards the completion of all lower division math and science prerequisite courses.
  2. A grade of C or better in all required math and science prerequisite courses completed at that time.
  3. A math and science prerequisite GPA of no less than 3.0.

Students who meet the 3 conditions listed above are guaranteed a seat. Students who do not meet the 3 conditions listed above will be considered for a seat in the Program through the regular admissions process. Students that do not meet the 3 conditions listed above and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher are encouraged to apply. All students are required to complete all required prerequisite courses prior to the fall semester in which they start taking upper division NMT professional sequence courses.
